A passion for the scuba diving world is the basis of the diving center "La Gorgonia 5 STAR DIVE RESORT PADI", which is capable of satisfying the needs of every scuba diver.

Established in 1992 by Giuseppe Vadalà, a native of the island and Padi scuba diving instructor with expert knowledge of the local depths, the diving center "La Gorgonia" can count on an experienced staff which caters to the needs of all divers.

The office of the diving center "La Gorgonia" is only a few metres from the sea in the central piazza of Marina Corta, 50 metres from the historic centre, on the right-hand side of the slope up to the church of S. Giuseppe.

The facilities include the refilling of cylinders (air/nitrox), ample inside space for storing equipment, fresh water tanks to wash equipment, and toilets. There are also equipped facilities where theory lessons can be held.
The center is open from April to November.

The diving center "La Gorgonia" is on the island of Lipari, the largest of the Eolian Archipelago. This is a small and scattered group of seven black volcanic islands which emerge from the dephts of a turquoise sea.
The Eolian Islands, situated off the northern shores of Sicily, in a descending order according to size are Lipari, Salina, Vulcano, Stromboli, Filicudi, Alicudi and Panarea.

They are the result of geomorphological formation which started in the tertiary period and ended in the first neozoic period. We can find traces of the islands' birth and history in the Regional Archaeological Eolian Museum, where in the Vulcanology and Archaeology sections the most important finds, with information, are on display.
